Allow Me to Reintroduce Myself — Loud, Clear, and Unapologetically Present: Political, Social, and Emotional
Let me be candid for a moment. Some of you may have noticed that my posts have been more politically charged lately. Yet those who truly know me also know that my world is filled with laughter, color, music, and movement — a gallery of human connection from every corner of the earth. If a dancer stirs my spirit, a singer moves my heart, or a bit of humor lifts the heaviness of the day, I share it. That mix — spontaneous, eclectic, and deeply human — is me.
But I also cherish silence. When I’m home, there’s often no TV, no radio, no background noise — only stillness. Silence has always been my sanctuary. And perhaps it’s from that quiet space that my voice has grown louder.
In recent months, I’ve found myself more vocal about what I see unfolding in our world. I read, I research, I fact-check, and I question — not because I’ve become obsessed, but because I care. Because silence, though sacred, cannot always stay mute when the world feels out of balance.
This isn’t new for me. I’ve always written about family, faith, humanity, and the everyday theatre of our shared existence. What’s changed is the urgency — the pulse that tells me to use my words as my baton, to wave my thoughts into the chorus of our times.
For my own mirth and validation, I do have a history. I’ve been having conversations with myself — about family, public and personal reflections, the internet, ChatGPT, artificial intelligence, religion, and social consciousness — for a very long time. While this could easily be a plug to visit my blog archives, I’ll say without apology: this isn’t a new incarnation. It’s an extension of my advocacy — to use my words as instruments, to bring rhythm and reason to the noise of our collective living.
We could point to the essays already written — on conscience, awakening, and reflection — many of which now find their way into a digital home at GraceCWalker.com and my ongoing journal of thought at Gracelyn2.blogspot.com. If social media is fleeting conversation, then these platforms are my library — the spaces where reflection finds permanence.
Lest I confuse you, or you feel detached from my storytelling, understand this: I’m in a passage of time where I am fluid in expression. You may be the reason for a script, or I may be invited by my own conscience to air an observation — to allow a reader to step into the sanctuary of my inner world.
So when someone suggested that my use of a particular song hinted at personal hardship, I took umbrage. Not because of the concern, but because it reduced my intent to something self-contained — when in truth, my words and shares are an invitation. An opening. A bridge toward connection and oneness.
This is me — fluid, faithful, and fiercely human.
Lovely, fluid, goddess....Grace❤️
